About a year ago, I played in a British Colonial game set in the Khyber Pass of Afghanistan. At the time, I was greatly impressed with the setting and scenario, but at a loss for rules to use. So like so many other projects, I put it on the back burner.
Lately though, I've been getting "the itch" again. I do most of my gaming these days with 28mm figures, but there's something about 15mm that calls to me. Maybe it's because they're smaller and much easier to paint? (That might seem ironic at first, but it's not - they're smaller and therefor less detailed.)
So I've been studying "The Sword and The Flame", or TSATF, which seems to be the defact rule set for playing in this period, and I've located some relatively inexpensive figures (around $0.30 a man - I'll need around 100 of them).
I'm probably not going to buy them since I have such a massive backlog of miniatures to work on and very little free spending money, but sometimes the daydream is what keeps me going. I know intellectually that "getting a few easy-to-paint figures to knock out between bigger projects" doesn't really work, but being rational isn't always my strong suit.
