I have very nearly finished most of my rockets, with the exception that I want to "clear coat" all of them to protect their decals from launch heat. That little Gnome's decals got all crinkley after a few launches, . I painted the Gamma Ray in a gloss red which is very nice, and the Viking got a very eye catching yellow and green finish. The Courier and Icarus are gloss white with black and gloss blue payload bays, respectively. Someday I'll get the fleet's picture posted. They look pretty sharp. I hope they don't CATO on me before I get the chance to fly them a few times. :-)
Here is my flight status:
- Ready to "clear coat" and fly - Skywriter, Courier (still needs new parachutes), MaxxTraxx, Icarus, Gamma Ray, Viking
- Ready to sand, seal and paint - Fatboy, Full Moon
- Still Under Construction - Harpoon AGM, Mercury/Redstone, Bull Pup
I'm going to order some kevlar shock cord for the Bull Pup, and I need to buy some more and better parachutes for the Courier and Icarus.
I have a half dozen B6-4's and a few C's and A's. The A's will be useful test flights, and the C's will be good for sending my sturdier rockets screaming off the pad. Now if the weather would cool down a little, I'd be all set. :-)
