Oh, and just when I thought it was safe to come out of my cave, a new miniatures line is starting up - Infinity. It's a Scifi Anime inspired line, along the lines of Bubblegum Crisis, Appleseed, etc. Lots of super high tech, cyborgs and bots, cute girls with big eyes and big, um, exoarmors, the whole shebang.
The factions are interesting, and due to the exceptionally high tech nature of the setting, the game seems to be focusing on very small unit actions, with squads of reasonably elite units engaging in covert warfare. In other words, just about right for Chain Reaction! :-) These guys look to be good opponents for my Spugs and Hydrissians, and it's possible that the Infinity game itself will be a lot of fun.
The down side? The figures look to be quite pricey, up in the Games Workshop range, and without the hope of finding discounting resellers. A basic box of 6 figures (3 "Grunts", 3 other characters) and a "quickstart" rule book is just under $40us, and my best guess is that you'll be able to get 1 character or 3 grunts for $9us. Ouch.
